Sienna Cut Velvet Child’s Coat
This child’s winter coat was a wonderful garment, but I could not find a way to speak about it visually until I exhausted photographing it from the outside.
The interior life of this coat was the interesting part. The coat was fuzzy and so the materials are evident on all of the seam edges giving the sense of what it looks like from the outside. The wide waistband must have kept the coat from ever flying open if the child was running and the slippery yellow silk panels in the tails of the jacket probably created less friction on the clothes underneath. The vertical rows of brown cross stitches on the stress points on the interior belt add that mechanical sense of this being a well thought out design.
